Common questions about this+that
What does the product do?
this+that reads your email and messages, identifies what needs action, and organizes it into your DoBox, a focused task list built from your communications. You can accept or reject task suggestions, set priorities, add due dates, leave comments, and more. Then, use Flows to automate what happens next, like labeling customer feedback, drafting replies to colleagues, forwarding invoices to finance, or finding a requested document and sending it along.
What’s the difference between a task suggestion and a task?
A task suggestion is something the assistant has identified from your communications as potentially needing action. Once you accept a suggestion, it becomes a task in your DoBox that you can manage, prioritize, and track like any other task. If a suggestion isn’t relevant, you can reject it and optionally provide feedback to help the assistant improve.
Who’s it for?
Anyone feeling overwhelmed or burned out by the volume of comms they have to monitor, triage and act on.
How much does it cost?
Free for 30 days, no credit card required. After that, the Individual plan is $24/month ($20/month billed annually) and the Team plan is $20/user/month ($17/user/month billed annually). Enterprise pricing is available for larger teams. See our pricing page for full details.
Can I connect more than one account?
Yes. You can connect multiple Gmail and Outlook accounts, Slack workspaces, and Microsoft Teams accounts from the Integrations page. For email, the first account you connect is the default for composing new emails. You can change that from the account selector in the sidebar. When you reply to a message, the reply comes from the email address that received the email. And you can change that from the message compose window.
Is there a mobile version?
Our web application works on all size screens from a larger monitor to a laptop display to a tablet and even a mobile phone. On tablets and phones you can add it to your homescreen so you can open it just like an app you might install from the app store. Search the web for instructions on how to add a website to your homescreen specific to your device. It’s easy and makes the app more accessible.
How does the assistant work?
Your assistant analyzes messages as they arrive, identifies what needs action, and organizes it into your DoBox. The rest flow into your inbox. Then, use Flows to automate what happens next, like labeling customer feedback, drafting replies to colleagues, or forwarding invoices to finance.
Is the tool for individual work or team collaboration?
You can use this+that to manage personal tasks but we believe much of the power comes when entire teams use the product, since tasks in the DoBox can be shared. To create a team, go to Settings and select Team.
Is this+that intended to replace my email app?
We believe you should be able to use this+that instead of Gmail or Outlook, but if we’re missing key features, let us know by emailing support@thisandthat.chat. If you need to stay in Gmail (for example, because of an add-on or workplace policy), our Chrome extension brings the DoBox right into Gmail so you can manage tasks without switching apps.
Is this+that intended to replace use of a task manager?
For many team use cases (like tracking the tasks to build a software product), we expect most people to continue to use a task manager. But for personal task management or to track the sort of tasks that don’t often end up in a task manager, we think the DoBox should meet your needs.
How do I deactivate a flow?
Go to the Flows page, click the ⋮ menu on the flow you want to deactivate, and select Deactivate. The flow will stop running but won’t be deleted. You can reactivate it the same way whenever you’re ready.
Can I see my team’s calendar?
Yes. Ask the assistant when a teammate is free, or when several teammates have a window together, and it looks at free/busy across the calendars they have connected to this+that. Public events on a teammate’s calendar can be listed by title; anything marked private stays private. Every member can opt out of team availability lookups from their account settings.
Does this+that replace Calendly?
For most use cases, yes. You can publish a public booking page that shows your real availability and lets a visitor book a meeting on your calendar, and the visitor gets the calendar invite they would expect. Routing forms, embedded widgets, and very large multi-host configurations are not in scope today. Read the full comparison.
Are my private events visible to my team?
No. Free/busy lookups across the team return only free/busy windows, not titles, descriptions, attendees, or organizers. Events you mark private stay private even when a teammate asks about your availability.
